ONE PALETTE, TEN BLOGGERS – Blue Marine

nyx perfect filter marine layers palette

I’m super excited about this post. I’ve been hyper for the past month organizing and planning a project, where I have 40 Finnish bloggers altogether. Here it finally is – or the first part of it!

I got the idea, when I though of all the different ways to collaborate with other bloggers. I came up with a makeup challenge, where each blogger does her own version of the makeup based on the same product. An eye shadow palette was an obvious choice, because you can create countless different styles with it. I thought I would be lucky, if I even got five bloggers to collaborate with me. I was so amazed, when 39 lovely bloggers all wanted to join the project! I divided the participants in ten-people groups, where each blogger does a makeup based on the same palette. I’m so excited to see all the different looks! There are so many beautiful and different women in this collab, that I bet there’s a little something for everyone! I’m also eager to see, how everyone combines the palette to the rest of the makeup? Are we gonna see some full glam party looks or something natural? Can’t wait to find out.

Our sponsor, Pretty.fi got us the Perfect Filter palette in four different shades (+ a discount code, that can be found on the Finnish post version, since the shop is Finnish). A big thank you to Pretty.fi and L’Oréal!

I’m in the first group, where we have the Perfect Filter palette in shade Marine Layers. It’s a beautiful palette with beautiful colors including bright blue, purple and pink as well as some grey and nude shades. It was super hard to decide on the makeup for this post. Do you believe me, if I said I tried to stay away from that gorgeous blue color? Well, it wasn’t so easy. So I just went with it and created a familiar smokey eye. I used the blue and the nude shades from the palette and lined my eyes using a wet brush and the darkest grey color.

I combined the bold eye makeup with a light coverage foundation and nude lips. I tried elf’s BB Cream for the first time and I immediately fell in love with that –  I think it’s gonna be my summer foundation. I lined my lips and filled them in using a nude liner and topped them off with the light pink shade from the palette.

Armed with Warpaint – active charcoal for teeth whitening

warpaint review

I’m not particularly worried about my teeth being perfectly white. That said, I still don’t mind getting my teeth a bit whiter. Drinking coffee and tea and eating certain foods do make your teeth more yellow, but nowadays it’s easy to brighten them up.

Easy? Yes! For me it’s important that the teeth whitener product is easy and quick to use. I’ve tried teeth whiteners that take up to 45 minutes or an hour to work and I’ve noticed that I tend to forget to use them. But with this natural Warpaint teeth whitener I get the same results in just a few minutes.

WARPAINT Natural Teeth Whitener review

The product that I’ve been using lately is Warpaint. It’s this black powder made from activated coconut charcoal and other natural ingredients. Did you know that charcoal is actually also used in medical care for overdoses of medications or alcohol?

The charcoal in warpaint is non abrasive. It removes toxins and absorbs materials. That way it helps with discoloration and stains. I love that the product is all natural. If you read my blog you know I like to use organic products and I’m careful with what I’m using especially on my face. You can find more info on warpaint and it’s ingredients here.

How do you use warpaint?

You simply just wet your toothbrush (you may want to get another tootbrush just for this), dip it in the warpaint powder and brush your teeth for two minutes. You want to keep your mouth closed so you don’t spill the black magic all over the bathroom. Then you just spit it out and rinse your mouth. Done!

Does active charcoal for teeth whitening work?

I think active charcoal works for teeth whitening, definitely. I can see a clear change in my teeth. They’re brighter and whiter now that I use this. At first I used this every day for about a week and then I cut down to 2-3 times per week. That may sound like a lot, but it’s just two minutes extra. Taking care of your teeth takes time anyway with flossing and everything.

The only downside to this product is it being a bit messy and ugly. It’s black, it’s powdery and it doesn’t look pretty on your teeth. But I don’t think it’s really that bad. After you get used to the product you know how to do it, so you don’t mess up your sink. And two minutes is nothing. I like to do this in the evening so I brush my teeth with regular toothpaste after using this to get all the black powder out of my teeth.
