Colors from the rainbow: Blue pride!

A phone call with my sister went about like this:

“Jassu, can I do your makeup? I’m fed up with my face and I’ve lost my inspiration.”
“Umm.. yeah?!”

Gladly it’s easy to get makeup models and familiar faces even let you do whatever makeup you want. My other sister challenged me to do colorful looks for pride week. Pride is celebrated with rainbow colurs and you see a lot of rainbow eyeshadows and lips. I love colours but I didn’t want to do a basic rainbow liner this time. I wanted to play with colour placement and do something different and fun. I also wanted the look to be more wearable so instead of using all the colours I picked one from the rainbow: blue.

And guys. Blue eyebrows. I mean blue ombre eyebrows. Yes! Did someone talk about wearable? Funny, this time I had to do a blue eyeshadow look to go with the eyebrows – to balance the look. Ha.

I think this makeup is one of my favourites.

We were in a hurry but I still took some making of photos. So here are the before, in between and after photos!

  1. I primed the brows with white pencil and a light eyebrow definer (Zuii’s). I applied the white color as seen in the photo and the brow product to the start of the brow.
  2. After that I applied the blue eyeshadow to the end of the brow and a darker brown colour to the front (Rimmel).
  3. I finished the look with brown brow mascara and blue mascara in the end of the brow.
Foundation, highlight, contouring thing happening here.

The perfect everyday nude blush

the perfect nude blush

We all know that moment when you’re done with your makeup and the only thing missing is a blush. Sometimes you just need a little something – some healthy colour on your cheeks without it taking all the attention from the rest of the makeup. Just some nude shade that looks natural and almost as if you’re not wearing any. Well, I’ve found that shade.

Jane Iredale Flawless Blush

Jane Iredale PurePressed Flawless blush review

Jane Iredale’s blush in shade Flawless is the perfect nude that I’ve been looking for. At first when I opened it it looked almost boring ’cause it’s so light and subtle and matte. But now that I’ve tried it on I realize it’s the perfect colour for my makeup collection. Not only does it go with different styles and looks it also works as a contour shade for lighter skin tones. And not only that but it also works as an eyeshadow.

The packaging is golden and beautiful. It’s quite small which is nice ’cause it doesn’t take much space and it’s easier to work with. We all know how clumsy big palettes can be not to mention they take up so much space in the drawer. This is cute and tiny and it’s easy to take with you when you’re travelling especially since it works for eyes and contour as well.

In my experience the makeup powders from Jane Iredale do feel good on the skin and they blend easily just like this one does. Jane Iredale products are not purely just minerals ’cause there are also synthetic ingredients such as silicones to make them easier to use. This blush contains minerals and silicones but also pine extract and pomegranate extract which are anti-aging and hydrating. Pigmentation in this is top-notch so a little goes a long way.
